Into the wild Blue yonder of 2020

Updated: Sep 6, 2020

The New Year in Michigan started on a chilly note, so now is the best time to stoke the fire, grab the blanket, and catch up on the latest Floral trends of 2020. Let me start by wishing all of our past and future to be customers a very happy New Year, thank you for all your support and positive vibes throughout 2019 and heading into a new decade. I like to start each January by looking at the trends and the Pantone color of the year, which is Classic Blue. This is a shade that is reminiscent of a dusky blue sky and as the experts have remarked it offers a sense of "comfort and reassurance as we enter a time of instability globally." (Pantone)

Color influences the fashion industry from the clothing choices that scatter the runway in shades of Blue, to the flower industry which I am thankful to be a part of. Classic Blue can be regal, restrained and boundless, but can also deviate from what is expected and can take on a more edgier approach. Although their are not many flowers that are an actual blue in nature, we have come up with some choices that are~ not out of the blue! lol

Delphinium, Blue Hydrangea, Clematis, Blue Star, Bellflower, Thistle, Balloon Flower, Blue Hybiscus, Forget-Me-Not, and Bachelor Button to just name a few. As Classic Blue is the highlighted color this year, expect to see it in wedding themes, from Bridesmaid dresses, to bridal bouquets, stationary in the blue color scheme, hair flowers and crowns adorned with pops of blue and wedding arches with beautiful blue flowers and linens inspired by the color of the year.
