It's hard to believe we are already into March and rounding the bend towards warmer sunnier weather! Yay! I must admit that I did take a little bit of a break during the winter months to travel to sunny Florida with my husband. It was a trip full of palm trees, and much needed warmth during this extremely cold February here in Michigan. So in this blog I would like to talk about color, and especially the Pantone color of the year for 2021 which is Ultimate Gray and Illuminating. I love what Pantone has written on their site about the joining of these two seemingly opposite colors;
"As people look for ways to fortify themselves with energy, clarity, and hope to overcome the continuing uncertainty, spirited and emboldening shades satisfy our quest for vitality. PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating is a bright and cheerful yellow sparkling with vivacity, a warming yellow shade imbued with solar power. PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray is emblematic of solid and dependable elements which are everlasting and provide a firm foundation. The colors of pebbles on the beach and natural elements whose weathered appearance highlights an ability to stand the test of time, Ultimate Gray quietly assures, encouraging feelings of composure, steadiness and resilience." Pantone
There are so many beautiful wedding combinations with these two colors. From yellow calla lilies, yellow tulips, golden ranunculus, sunflowers, bright yellow cymbidiums and cheerful bright yellow gerberas, paired with silvery greens such as dusty miller, and accents of gray brunia. Another pretty option is to pair silvery gray bridesmaid dresses, with yellow bridesmaid bouquets. This sunny combination of colors draws on each other to work harmoniously well towards creating a positive cheerful wedding vibe. "A marriage of color conveying a message of strength and hopefulness that is both enduring and uplifting." Pantone
